HOW WE WORK
Maintaining very low overhead expenses, the aim of the altruistic foundation is to improve the quality of life found in those communities where the Villa Group Resorts operate, welcoming volunteers, supporting and organizing a variety of programs and receiving cash and in-kind donations which are tax deductible in the USA.
The monetary donations collected by the foundation are granted to various local charities and programs as decided by the Eagle’s Wings Foundation Board of Directors. EWF extends its services to those organizations that can provide financial and administrative transparency that work directly for the benefit of the community. Eligible groups must meet strict guidelines set forth by the Instituto Jalisciense de Asistencia Social (IJAS) in Jalisco, Mexico.
The foundation and its donations are managed by a Board of Directors that represent the Villa Group, UVCI-managed club members and the local communities where donations will be directed, as well as an Executive Committee (directors of the EWF Board).
Regional Grant Committees familiar with local charities provide recommendations for fund distribution in their areas, which are reviewed and approved by the board members and/or the Executive Committee who take a vote on how the donations are distributed among the different programs and charities supported by the foundation. Grant applications, receipts and other paperwork are kept on file.
